Open Training Day
Once a month we offer to a small group of interested spectators (approx. 30 people) the opportunity to experience what we call an 'ordinary training morning' with us. We demonstrate how we work our horses on a daily basis and show how we train them from the very start right up to the higher levels. We begin at 9 am with a tour of the stables and then head over to the arena to watch the first training session. This is followed by the second training session, going until 12.30 when the morning finishes. The Open Training Day costs 35 euro per person of which 5 Euros are donated for a good cause.

The report of our first Open Training:
On Jan 29 2008 a group of interested spectators met at the Schulze Brüning property in order to experience a typical training morning with Ingrid Klimke. After going through the stables, seeing each horse and learning of its specific strengths and weaknesses, the group then moved on to the Indoor arena, where Ingrid and her team presented the training.
Throughout the riding and during the break (coffee and cake in a comfortable room adjoining the arena) the spectators are given commentary and an explanation from Ingrid as to why which training method is being applied. Training methods are based on age and level of each individual horse. All in all 10 horses of all ages and levels were shown to allow the spectator to get an insight as to how the typical training progression for a horse would look. Since the open training takes place at regular intervals, the spectator can see the progression on each individual horse. With this open training day Ingrid Klimke would like to give a chance to any interested rider to see her approach to training horses. |
