is the very soul of the stable. She has a unique gift of communicating with horses and understanding their needs so that she is able to provide ideal care for each horse. No-one knows horses better than she! Carmen has full responsibility for the management of the stable and because of her great competence I am able to focus on my work with the horses in peace. She is always positive, has excellent organizational skills and even in difficult, pressure-filled situations her calm reliability and gift with both people and horses makes her irreplaceable for me and for the other members of the team.

Is our working student studying for her "Bereiterprüfung" .She has ridden with me since she was a pony rider and has over the years become a member of the team. She comes to the stable regularly and when there is an emergency absence she is always ready to help out. She knows the horses and our stable routine and she rides very well. Whatever the task at hand Lara is ready to take it on.

is a greatly respected trainer who supervised my father's riding at the Westfalian Riding and Driving School. He adheres to the classical principles of riding which he learned in the cavalry.After my father's death he offered to assist me. I was very grateful for this offer and glady accepted. Since 1999 he has supervised me when I am working horses and is an excellent resource when I am evaluating young prospects. His theoretical knowledge is vast and invaluable. One great quotation from him is: "First you must understand it in your head." I spent many evenings with him discussing the content of my book, "The Basic training of Young Horses" which he critiqued in detail. He also helps with the training of apprentices through regular theory sessions and in preparing for rding tests. He attaches particular importance to thoroughly loosening horses in their work. "You can't let a horse chew the reins out of your hands often enough," he says. He sees the horse  as a friend and always has a piece of sugar ready to offer. I am glad to be able to have someone of his stature assisting me.

is the person who keeps the office running smoothly by keeping the books and accounts in perfect order. She is on top of all the accounting and insurance issues and keeps my tax accountant happy because everything is always presented properly and on time. Monika always supports me in sport too and will happily come along to dressage competitions.

takes care of the office mail, correspondence and appointments. If I were to have to look after the large volume of mail that comes in by myself I would never have any time to ride. She is able to juggle my busy schedule: co-ordinating dates for competitions, speaking engagements, handling the press and so on, all with good humour.

I can safely say that without Tina I would never have my website "on-line". She constantly updates the site and helps in preparing the written text. It is always a pleasure to work with her.

is perfect for my horses. Here we enjoy large, bright box stalls on the floor of an old threshing barn, a large arena, beautiful grounds, great hacking and meadows for turnout. We have ideal conditions for keeping horses so they feel well and this is the basis from which we can carry out good training.
